TRINITY COLLEGE V ROYAL COLLEGE
The second school to take up the sport in Sri Lanka, as early as 1906, Trinity played their first game against Kingswood College during the same year. This game which ended in a draw was understandably the first ever inter-school game played in the Island. Kingswood College gave up the sport three years later, leaving Trinity as the only school to continue the sport until Royal College took up the game in 1916. Trinity then played their first game in a while against Royal College in 1920, winning by a comfortable margin 26-0 and continued to win this annual encounter, now known as the Bradby shield until Royal recorded their first victory in 1941.
