Thomas’ College together with the Josephians joined Trinity, Royal & St. Peter’s in the battle. The first Thomian rugger team was captained by K.S. Anandan and included renowned personalities like Michael Tissera. The Thomians played their first game against Trinity college and were no match to the side led by Mahinda Ratwatte, losing 13-0.
